Many of our older citizens have come to realize that their use of fossil fuels is not in the best interests of their grandchildren. Don’t become a desperate octogenarian begging for a quad to placate a conscience that has become tormented by the thought of global warming. Buy your Quad now before demand causes prices to “quadruple” and the concept of a reasonably priced Quad becomes a thing of the past. Your grandchildren will remember you fondly as a grandparent who decided to burn rice and beans rather than dinosaur juice to get to the bridge and shuffleboard wars.
Fight Greed
We must remember that we borrow natural resources from our children rather than simply find them for our personal use. When you use a Quad to move from one place to another you have done so in a sustainable manner. The mode of transportation conserves natural resources so that all humans for all time can move across a landscape without polluting it or consuming it. Simply ask yourself this question, “Would you rather be locked in a garage with a running Quad or a running traditional gas-burning-stinking-natural-resource-trashing automobile?” If you choose wisely you will live to ride another day. The thoughtful traveler knows that the destination is colored by the path chosen and that a selfish path makes for a selfish end.
Fight Sloth
Our children are becoming mere appendages to electronic devices. Starving a child of the endorphin rush of an active life will invariably reduce the ability of a mind to grasp the rich texture of reality. The junk food of virtual reality is a poison and works like chewing gum in the mind to prevent the rough and tumble joy of biting off more than you can chew. Mind and body are one on the Quad as you interact with the landscape and hear the voice of the earth with every uphill and downhill. In a gas-burning-stinking-natural-resource-trashing automobile you are moving through the landscape as a drugged stranger to the wonder outside your window. Instead of sensing the rising and falling of the earth as its breathes beneath your legs you plan your next gas stop as your heart grows smaller and your veins more constricted. The Quad expands your consciousness but act quickly if you are a regular user of fossil fuels before the mind-numbing effects of your mode of transportation becomes irreversible. Some have continued so long in the way of fossil fuels that nothing short of a sock full of dog manure up-side-the-head can bring them back to a teachable moment.
